Everyone wants a perfect wedding day. The air should be laced with romance, and so should your decorations. With Kerry Vincent's Romantic Wedding Cakes, all aspects of your special day will be picturesque. The cakes in this book are heavily detailed and create an aura of magic that is sure to infuse your wedding with the feeling of fairy tales.

This book, unlike many others about wedding cakes, treats the tutorials like regular recipes instead of like far-fetched ideas. So many books are idealistic and do not give you recipes or exact guides on how to create each piece of the cakes. In Romantic Wedding Cakes, starting on page 133, you are given the recipes for both the cakes and their icings. This way, if you want to make the cakes at home instead of bringing ideas into a bakery, you can have the proper batters and icings to create your masterpieces.

Although all of the cakes in the book are incredible, my favorite cake is on page 48. The Tiers in a Teacup Cake is the perfect mix of old-fashioned and modern; this cake inspires ideas other than one large wedding cake, and it makes me want to make individual cakes for a birthday or a bridal shower housed in pretty vintage teacups. This book continues to inspire on page 148, where it explains table trends. The romantic trends it outlines would look gorgeous in any kind of wedding. Indoor, backyard, or on a beach, a beautiful table setting will set the scene for a romantic reception that your guests will not soon forget.
