Materials:
- AUNT LYDIA’S® Classic Crochet Thread, Size 10: 1 ball 1 White will make several Headdresses.
- Steel Crochet Hooks: 1.50mm [US 7] and 1.00mm [US 12]. 216 6mm pearls.
GAUGES:
16 dc = 2”. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain gauge.
Abbreviations: ch = chain; dc = double crochet; sc = single crochet; * = repeat whatever follows the * as indicated; [] = work directions given in brackets the number of times specified.
Special Technique:
Bead = draw up a loop to the width of the pearl, drop the loop from the hook, insert smaller hook into pearl and then into the dropped loop, pull thread loop through the pearl adjusting so that the pearl is even with the previous ch-1, ch 1, remove smaller hook from loop and insert larger hook to proceed.
Headdress:
With larger hook, ch 120; join with a slip st to form a ring, being careful not to twist ch.
Round 1: Ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 4 sc; * 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 4 sc; repeat from * around; join with a slip st to first sc.
Round 2: Ch 3, skip first sc, dc in next sc and in each sc around; join with a slip st to top of ch-3.
Round 3: Ch 1, sc in same st as joining, sc in each dc around; join.
Round 4: Ch 5, skip first 2 sc, * dc in next sc, ch 2, skip one sc; repeat from * around; join to 3rd ch of ch-5 – 72 spaces.
Round 5: Slip st in next ch, ch 1, * sc in ch-2 space, ch 6, skip next ch-2 space; repeat from * around; join to first sc – 36 loops.
Round 6: Slip st in next 3 ch, ch 1, * sc in ch-6 loop, ch 10; repeat from * around; join.
Round 7: Slip st in next 5 ch, ch 1, * [sc in ch-10 loop, ch 10] 5 times, sc in next loop, ch 1, bead; repeat from * around; join to first sc.
Round 8: Slip st in next 5 ch, ch 1, * [sc in ch-10 loop, ch 10] 4 times, sc in next loop, ch 1, [bead] 3 times; repeat from * around; join.
Round 9: Slip st in next 5 ch, ch 1, * [sc in ch-10 loop, ch 10] 3 times, sc in next loop, ch 1, [bead] 5 times; repeat from * around; join.
