This is a very sweet and lovely idea and I could see this go beyond a wedding cake, because wouldn't this be super for a 50th anniversary celebration or renewal of vows ceremony? Or perhaps have smaller cakes at your wedding and provide your parents with their own cake with their vintage photo or their folks photo.... So many ideas to share a sweet gesture to remember the original love in the family! Great idea!
