Sometimes it’s as small as fixing a nail chip or taming flyaway hairs. But for a stressed out, unprepared bride or bridesmaid, these little hiccups can feel like catastrophes. So don’t be unprepared. Wedding Day Survival Kit

Below is a comprehensive list of all the items the bride, maid of honor, or bridesmaid might need on wedding day. The essentials are broken down by category to make the list easier to browse. All you have to do is choose your essentials from each category and put together your bridal emergency kit. You'll be a rock star on wedding day. 

Beauty Emergencies

Here's a list of all of the items you might need to fix or prevent beauty-related snafus on the big day. Some of these are pretty essential, but choose the ones you or your bride will need the most. (Or, grab them all, if you want to be ultra-prepared.) 

  1. Bobby pins (in multiple colors to match different hair colors)

  2. Hair elastics

  3. Nail polish (colored, for touch ups, and clear, for fixing runs in stockings)

  4. Nail file & nail clippers

  5. Tweezers (for stray hairs or splinters)

  6. Deodorant

  7. Razors

  8. Blotting papers (no one likes a shiny nose)

  9. Touch up makeup (concealer, powder, mascara, and eyeliner in particular)

  10. Nail polish remover and swabs

  11. Makeup remover wipes, or Q tips and makeup remover solution

  12. Earring backs and spare earrings (those things are so easy to lose)

  13. Eye drops, and/or contact solution & an extra case, if anyone in the party wears contacts

  14. Dental floss/toothpicks

Body Care

No one should be uncomfortable on wedding day (at least, beyond what a strapless bra does to your ribs). Having these items stashed in your bridal survival kit will help keep everyone feeling fresh and ready for the big day.

  3. Water

  4. Snacks (granola bars, nuts, or other snacks high in protein)

  5. Sunscreen and bug spray (depending on the season and if the wedding outdoors or you're doing any outdoor photos)

  6. Mini first aid kit with bandaids (multiple sizes), gauze, burn treatment (curling irons are hot!), and blister treatment

  7. Moist towelettes 

  8. Breath mints & mouthwash

  9. Tampons and panty liners

  10. Chapstick

  11. Hand sanitizer

Miscellaneous Necessities

These items are for the unforseen emergencies that can pop up at any moment. Add these essentials to your DIY wedding day survival kit and you'll be ready for anything. 

  1. Cash and change (in case of last minute coffee or soda runs)

  2. Tissues

  3. Super glue (for fixing broken nails, wobbly heels, errant beading, etc.)

  4. Pen and paper

  5. Straws (no one likes smudgy lipstick)

  6. Lighter (for sealing the frayed ends of ribbons or lighting candles that have gone out)

  7. Phone chargers & extension cord 

  8. Corsage pins

  9. Small foldable scissors (for tags or loose threads that need to be clipped)

  10. Floral tape (for any bouquet or boutonniere mishaps)

  11. Extra copies of wedding day agenda and timeline

  12. Fake wedding/engagement ring (in case of a forgetful best man)

Final Tips

  1. Be sure to keep your emergency kit organized. Tackle boxes or craft box organizers with compartments are an excellent way to store all of your items and make them easy to find.
